Windrush Legacy Artwork

Project Overview
Windrush Legacy is a commissioned digital artwork created for The Windrush Legacy Association and exhibited at Westfield Stratford City as part of Black History Month. The piece celebrates the cultural impact and personal stories of the Windrush Generation, combining portraiture and illustration to honour heritage, memory, and legacy within a contemporary public space.
My Contributions
I created the artwork using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator alongside a Wacom tablet, developing the concept, illustration, and final composition. The piece was inspired by my grandfather, who arrived in England as part of the Windrush Generation, and was created to reflect both his strength and spirit. Being exhibited in East London, where my family roots are based, added personal significance to the project and reinforced my use of visual storytelling as a way to connect history, identity, and emotion.
